The process of artistic creation is fascinating and mysterious. For older works, X-ray photography, used by museums to scrutinize the painting techniques of the old masters, occasionally reveals surprising early steps. Yet, how the painting evolved to its final stage remains mostly unknown. For contemporary artists, photography can be used to document the entire creative process. Art-In-Time has assembled series of photographs showing how Gene Gould created some of his recent masterpieces.
